Restoring it to another cartridge though.that might not work. Results in corrupted game saves for me. A shame, because you can't have a backup of, say, your Animal Crossing save to. Submissions should be for the purpose of informing or initiating a discussion, not just with the goal of entertaining viewers. One of my absolute favorite games of all time was Secret of Mana on the SNES. It was a perfect blend of 16-bit era RPG, but it was coupled with a very unique combat system that involved leveling individual weapons and schools of magic. In addition, the game did something completely revolutionary in the early 90's by allowing multiplayer in an RPG. It wasn't the cleanest implementation of multiplayer, but it was pretty astonishing for its time. Now, to be fair, the story was your typical JRPG rehash of 'Boy has amnesia in small village, learns his true identity and destiny, and saves the world, blah blah blah' The story was certainly nothing revolutionary, but the game was VERY well-received and spawned a number of sequels.

Sadly, however, we have not seen a Mana game (that wasn't designed for a mobile platform) since 2007's, which received a relatively lukewarm critical reception. I'm curious to know how feels about the series as a whole, and whether or not you guys would want to see a new entry in the series.

It's been 10 years since there was a proper entry in the series and maybe it's been too long and people have forgotten about it. Personally, I think that if they could re-introduce the game's incredibly unique leveling and combat systems for a modern market, this game could really sail as a hallmark franchise. Honestly, I'd settle for a game that was released with a smaller budget and was released as a XBLA/PSN/Steam game.

I genuinely miss this series, and having recently rekindled my interest by playing through the original game via emulator, I would very much like to see a modern adaptation of the series. How would you guys feel about a new Mana game?

TL:DR - It's been 10 years since there was a proper Mana game that was released. Are we due for another one? I used to love Secret of Mana, but every time I came back to it I realized it was just kind of clunky. Same holds for SD3.

Now, I love Legend of Mana. It's just as clunky, but it's got enough systems to keep you entertained regardless of how clunky it is. Yeah, golems and monsters generally seem pointless and blacksmithing can seem like an incomprehensible madness obfuscated behind poor explanations and even less of an ability to actually look at the state of what piece of equipment you are working on, but daaaaaaaaamn can you get results that are just neat if you have the will to stick with it.
