Ask elsewhere Apr 30, 2012 I am a Mac user and therefore cannot give you a straight answer. However, Microsoft Word is notorious for its poor support of multilingual fonts.
In Windows 8: Search for the word 'character' on the Start screen and choose Character Map from the results. In Windows 7: Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Character Map.
I personally haven't used the Mangal font before but when I open a Sanskrit document (i.e. In Devanagari) in Word or try to paste it into a Word document, it is not uncommon for the text to become deformed. One example I can think of is the breaking up of conjunct consonants such as ङ्ग, क्ष or भ्य (in case the browser doesn't display it correctly, I typed (ṅga, kṣa or bhya). They will be printed as ṅ+virāma+ga, k+virāma+ṣa, etc. The best place to find the information you are looking for is the Indology mail list archive.
